I like to cook. I also like to live vicariously through the beautiful inspiration found on the internet in design and home organization. I love to implement when I can, but time is the limiting factor. You’ll see some of my home improvement projects, but cooking comes easier and you’ll see more of that here.
In November of 2009 I decided to cut all gluten out of my diet (more about this here). This was after a long battle with digestive issues, being sick quite a bit, and overall just lacking energy. Since the drastic diet change things have really been great. I have not been sick sick..like colds or strep or the flu, since. I have the occasional stomach ache which I usually attribute to cross contamination. The diet change hasn’t been really easy, but it’s much easier than you think thanks to all the great blogs and recipes available online. Eating out is still the only pain, but even that is so much easier than I can imagine it was 5-10 years ago. I do intend to get the blood work done to see if I truly have Celiac, but for now, just feeling well is proof enough for me!
Therefore, all recipes posted here since November 2009 are written gluten free. Don’t be discouraged if you’re not into the strange foreign flours that sometimes make it into my recipes, you gluten-eating folks have it easy. Simply sub in regular ‘ole all purpose white wheat flour for all of the flours listed and omit the Xanthan gum and you have a gluten recipe.
